The 2011 Action for Social Enterprise theme is all around “Making it Happen”
25th & 26 November 2011

We only have 10 places left for Friday 25th. There are still a limited number of spaces left for Saturday 26th. If you've not yet booked your place then you only have until 5pm TODAY (Wednesday 23rd November) to making a booking!
Running an enterprise, challenging what exists today and doing something remarkable can be a lonely place. You are on a mission and you are confronted with a million and one things to do – many of which you have never done before.
You simply can’t do everything yourself. So don’t try to.
Find the people who can help you. Stop looking inwards at your project and go out and meet others in as many places as you can. Share your vision with them and you will find the right people with the right skills, time and passion to help you achieve your goal.

Featured Workshop Trainer: Vanessa Augustus (Social Solutions Academy)
Vanessa founded the Social Solutions Academy in 2009. This pioneering organisation encourages collaboration across sectors to accelerate social innovation. Over the last two years we have supported over 350 social entrepreneurs, public sector representatives and private sector executives. Vanessa’s knowledge and experience as an innovative and creative evaluator, trainer and coach have made long lasting social impacts. Under her leadership the SSA is preparing to launch an online tool to improve partnership working for SMEs.

Steven has worked in and around technology for social good his whole working life, from installing and fixing computers, through to building large data systems and web projects. Over this period, Steven has slowly understood that computers are just bits of metal and that real value comes from focusing on the goals and needs of an organisation before anyone touches a keyboard. Obviously, Steven likes post-its.
Workshop: Meet a Geek: how free technology can help your social business thrive (only 3 places left!)
Get the best out of technology by befriending a geek (or several!). From fundraising, to websites, to search engine optimisation - social businesses can often tap into the wave of collaboration andco-operation that web technology can offer.
